The Source and Summit of Our Faith
The Eucharist is the heart of Catholic life. At every Mass, Jesus Christ becomes truly present under the appearances of bread and wine, nourishing us with His Body and Blood and drawing us into deeper communion with Him and one another.
First Holy Communion
Children typically celebrate First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion during second grade.
Preparation for First Holy Communion is offered through St. Joan of Arc Catholic School and the parish religious education program. Preparation includes formation in prayer, participation in Sunday Mass, and learning about the meaning and importance of the Eucharist in the life of the Church.
Parents play an important role in preparing their children for this sacrament and will receive information regarding preparation sessions, retreats, and celebration dates through the parish and school.
If your child is older and has not yet received First Holy Communion, please contact the parish office so we can help determine the appropriate preparation process.
Eucharist for the Homebound
If you or a loved one are unable to attend Mass because of illness, age, hospitalization, or mobility limitations, St. Joan of Arc Parish would be honored to bring Holy Communion to you.
Our clergy and trained Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion regularly visit parishioners in homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.
