Wellness Ministries
Caring for the Whole Person
At St. Joan of Arc Parish, we believe that caring for one another is an essential part of Christian discipleship. Our Wellness Ministries seek to provide spiritual, emotional, and practical support to parishioners and their families during times of illness, grief, aging, caregiving, and other life challenges.
Whether you are seeking support, companionship, prayer, or an opportunity to serve others, our Wellness Ministries offer ways to experience the care and compassion of Christ through the parish community.
Communion to the Homebound
Parishioners who are unable to attend Mass because of illness, age, or mobility limitations can remain connected to the Eucharistic life of the Church through visits from our Homebound Communion Ministers.
Volunteers regularly bring Holy Communion, prayer, and companionship to parishioners in homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.
Parish Nurses
Our parish is blessed to have three Parish Nurses who help support the health and wellness needs of our community. Parish Nurses serve as a resource for health education, referrals, advocacy, and spiritual support, helping parishioners navigate life’s physical and emotional challenges while integrating faith and wellness.
Evergreen Group
The Evergreen Group provides opportunities for fellowship, learning, and community among older adults in the parish. Through social gatherings, educational programs, outings, and special events, participants build friendships and remain actively engaged in parish life.
St. Veronica’s Outreach
Inspired by the compassion of St. Veronica, this ministry reaches out to parishioners and community members experiencing illness, hardship, or difficult life circumstances. Through prayer, encouragement, and practical acts of service, volunteers bring comfort and support to those in need.
Card Ministry
The Card Ministry helps parishioners stay connected through simple acts of kindness. Volunteers send cards for birthdays, anniversaries, illnesses, bereavements, and other significant life events, reminding recipients that they are remembered and supported by their parish family.
Caregiver Support Group
Caring for a loved one can be both rewarding and challenging. The Caregiver Support Group provides a welcoming and confidential environment where caregivers can share experiences, receive encouragement, learn practical strategies, and find spiritual support from others facing similar situations.
GriefShare
GriefShare is a compassionate support ministry for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Through faith-centered discussion, practical resources, and mutual encouragement, participants find hope, healing, and support as they navigate the journey of grief.
