Pet Ministry
Caring for God’s Creatures
The Pet Ministry celebrates the special bond between people and animals while promoting compassionate stewardship of God’s creation. Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, we seek to encourage pet owners and caretakers with love, support all who care about animals, and foster respect for all of God’s creatures through prayer, education, service, and fellowship.
Whether you are a pet owner, animal lover, or simply interested in supporting this unique ministry, there are many ways to become involved.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote compassion for all God’s creatures, encourage pet owners and caretakers with love, and support all who care about animals through prayer and action.
What We Do
Compassion & Care
The Pet Ministry offers encouragement and support to pet owners, including those grieving the loss of a beloved companion. Through prayer, outreach, and a caring presence, we help individuals and families navigate the joys and challenges of pet ownership.
Community Partnerships
We partner with local organizations, educators, and animal welfare groups to promote responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and appreciation for God’s creation. These partnerships help us build a stronger and more compassionate community.
Outreach & Service
The ministry supports local shelters and animal welfare organizations through donations, service projects, pet supply drives, and community outreach efforts. We seek to put our faith into action by caring for both people and animals in need.
Education
Throughout the year, the ministry offers educational opportunities on topics such as pet care, pet therapy, animal welfare, pet loss, and responsible stewardship of animals. These events help foster a deeper appreciation for the gift of creation.
Pet Blessings & Special Events
The Pet Ministry sponsors special events throughout the year, including opportunities to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, pet blessings, educational programs, and community gatherings for animal lovers.
Pet Therapy Scholarship
The ministry supports individuals interested in becoming certified Pet Therapy Handlers by helping offset training costs through a Pet Therapy Handler Scholarship program. Pet therapy teams provide comfort and companionship in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and other community settings.
Get Involved
Whether you would like to volunteer, participate in events, support local animal welfare efforts, or simply learn more, we would love to welcome you.
